Pajama and Slipper Day

What a great way to end a week!

Everyone looked like they had just jumped out of bed, and maybe so.  It was pajama day.  Slippers, socks and pj's helped to make our morning Mental Ability Testing more enjoyable.  The class did a GREAT job staying quiet and worked very hard from beginning to end.
We even had "visitors" dressed like us.  What a cute pair!

Lots of colorful slippers: monster feet, trucks, stompeez, ballet and stripes!
We were a little silly on our silly pajama day!

This was the "Birthday Boy" who turned eight on Saturday.  Thanks for our yummy treat of ice cream, brownies, chips and orange puffies!

Our friend "S" read us a "Bedtime" story: The Diary of a Worm.  It was hilarious!  I guess you will just have to read it to believe us.  Mrs. Lehman was very proud of this budding reader.

Mr. Brambley and the Iditarod Race

Dogs!!!  We had guests: Mr. and Mrs. Brambley from Breezewood, Fulton County came to share their stories and sled racing dogs with us.  What an exciting assembly!  This was especially exciting since we just read the story The Bravest Dog Ever: The True Story of Balto!

Scout being loved by the students.  The dogs were very well behaved.  We learned they were Siberian Huskies.
Snow shoes. . . very important when walking in deep snow!
Bo wearing his sled harness.  Do you remember all of the "line" names?  Lead line, neck line, tow line.

Shippensburg Pizza Hut, Planetarium and Britton Park

What an AMAZING day!
First we went to Pizza Hut where Miss Carle gave us the "insider" tour of The Hut and how to make pizza.  Then we made our OWN personal pan pizzas!  They tasted delicious and were even better since it was our "fruit break."

Time was spent looking at the food pyramid and deciding what food groups our pizza would include. . . hmmmm. . . .some even made "fruit" part of their pizza with some yummy pine apple!

Now we are drawing our designer pizza . . . with three or more food groups!

The Planetarium at Shippensburg University is always a hit.  But this class oooed and awwwed more than any other!  Dr. Roddick was impressed with their "star" knowledge.

Our eyes had to become "Dark Adjusted". . . that means the pupils in our eyes had to "grow" to let in more light.  Then we could see all the millions of stars that God has created in our immense galaxy and beyond!  What a HUGE Creation and great Creator!
All the students enjoyed the afternoon of play and exercise at Britton park after a morning of careful listening and sitting.  The Rock Wall was very popular!
We've got some "mountain goat" climbers in 2nd grade!

Mr. Emge, a Physical Therapist in Shippensburg, taught us the importance of exercise and healthy living.  We learned how to throw medicine balls, use exercise bands, and use velcro and hand held weights.

We were glad for NO rain, although we still got a little muddy.  But we sure worked and exercised HARD!  Our bodies will thank us later.
We thank God for our healthy, lively, working bodies!  We want to take good care of them, for His glory!
