Field Trip to Shippensburg!

What a BE-A-U-TI-FUL day for a field trip!  Both 2nd grade classes enjoyed their day out in the sun, away from their desks and pencils.  However, we still learned a HEEP of information about the one-room school house, making pizzas and "picturing" the stars at the planetarium.
The school bus ride is always noisy, but oh so fun!

At the Shippensburg Pizza Hut, Mrs. Peckman presented Miss Carole and the restaurant with a photo and plague of the k-2nd grade classes at Shalom.
Look for it the next time you stop into the restaurant!

Students enjoyed finding themselves in the photo.  It was taken last year when they were first graders.

Students also toured the restaurant and created their own one topping personal pan pizzas!  Yummy!
They were also thrilled to know that this counted as their "fruit break."

The One Room Schoolhouse sits on Shippensburg University's campus.  Students sat in the traditional one-room schoolhouse fashion: boys on one side and girls on the other.

Students competed in a traditional "spelling bee," looked at actual textbooks used throughout this schoolhouses' life time, and listened to the school bell ring, which was used long ago to call students to class.
Class of 2023 photo taken on the schoolhouse porch!
What a great group of students!
